An introduction to "The Artist's Pen" by the author/sketch-artist -- Richard Dam
The Poet/Artist
These poems are written to share honest family literature with each reader. The nature writings are for those who enjoy the great outdoors; Patriotic ones for those of us who love our country; Inspirational for the Jew and Gentile; Colorful writings and original sketches for those who would see beauty beyond our natural way.
Within the scope of this book dwells mammals, fish and birds in newness and beauty of the landscape which surrounds them. God's creatures lodge in the pages waiting for the doors to be opened so they may be seen.
We are gardeners for the King, to care for his forests, manage his gardens and write about what he has placed before us. As you travel through, reach out to help others, to clean the land, to be an inspiration and a helping hand to others less fortunate. Your mind may photograph the tall trees, beautiful flowers and eagles which may be as the people we meet and God would remold in always growing and learning of new life and beauty.
God has reached out to us with many natural and spiritual gifts to use and write about. His indwelling spirit can give comfort, peace and long life to the lonely wanderer. One would soon realize that the Master Artist is near and not out of reach.
The contents are now yours as I rest from the task which was set before me. God's timing is perfect, but mine is not. Enjoy the mountain tops and the green valleys as you travel through this woven path of pages from care and sharing hands.
